So I checked the egg for the second and last time and it seems to be growing well, i can see it kicking around inside the egg and it should hatch this week.
I think we will buy starter feed today, since the chick will be staying with our broody should we feed the broody this as well?
Also how long does the chick need to stay on the chick feed?
Oh and can chicks eat small worms?Or should we wait until it is older to feed it worms.
As for housing, we are thinking of placing the chick and broody hen in an old play house outside since we are afraid the chick may get out of the normal coop. Will this be okay? Or should we bring them both inside and make an area for them in the garage?
Is it bad for the chick to go outside with the mom and free range?
Sorry for all the questions, its our first time and just want everything to be right
P.S The chick will be a poland chicken incase you are wondering.
