A raccoon got into my coop a couple weeks ago and injured several of my ducks.

I was able to nurse all but one back to full health.

One however seems to have a broken leg. The would has almost completely healed, and she seems totally healthy except that she is still not using her leg.

She is hopping around just fine on one. She is eating and drinking plenty, and she mostly sticks with the rest of the flock. Sometimes she doesn't venture as far as the others to forage. She gets in and out of the coop just fine.

Is it cruel to keep her like this? I want to keep her, and she seems healthy other than the leg. What are your thoughts??

From what you have said I'm gonna say no its not. As long as she's happy, healthy and can do things on her own. If the leg does not heal or gets in the way or appears to affect her you could always amputate it. She'll just be a one legged duck. Some ducks in the wild live with one leg due to turtles and quite a few people have ducks with one leg.

Got any pictures of the leg? Did it heal straight? Vet visit perhaps.
