Bluebell is a blue Americana mutt that seems to be the sweetest in the flock. She follows us around and she likes to climb into people laps.

Recently shes had some very disturbing behavior. Shes very lethargic, won't open her eyes and drinks lots of water. She eats feed every once in awhile but she won't take treats. Today she started spinning around in circles for no reason.

I've looked at almost everything, but I can't find anything that would do this to her. Shes older and doesnt lay as frequent as she does and my parents won't take her to a vet as she can just be replaced. Since shes sick shes down for the next chopping bloc of the chickens.

I really love this chicken and really want to see her get better.

Please help.

Welcome to BYC. Yes, I agree that she may need to come in to warm up, and get some good nutrition while you try to figure out what is going on. She may have been hurt or suffered a head injury. Dehydration or being kept from her food can also be a cause of that behavior. I second giving electrolytes and vitamins. Several brands are available at most feed stores.
