Crisa's Chick Journey

My Black Australorp chicks arrived at the post office today from Country Hatchery in Wewoka, Oklahoma. All 15 are alive, healthy, and vibrant. They started pecking at the floor of their brooder for the chick starter and grit I threw on it.

Introduced their tiny beaks to the water and they were soon crowding the waterer. They gathered under the heat lamp but soon dispersed comfortably around the brooder.

They're so cute. They started nodding off (which caused concern at first but then I realized they were tired from their journey).

I think I'm in love.

Good luck with them.

Is this your maiden "romance" with baby chicks? They're irresistible buggers, aren't they?
