Chicken's Toe is Bloody

My 2-year old Coronation Sussex rooster, Lemon, has 1 toe that is covered in blood. Some of the feathers on his chest and head have blood on them, but they are not wounded. His toe looks wounded. It's not actively bleeding, but it has kind of a liquid blood coating on it.  I don't think he lost any weight. He's behaving normally. He walks around the coop normally and he doesn't seem to be in pain. I just noticed this today, but it happened about a week ago too. He's the only one with these symptoms, but I did notice my white cochin hen, Marbles, had a very small amount of blood on her head. She has no wounds, but she is high in the pecking order and she sometimes likes to make sure the others understand that, so I'm kind of thinking she is partly to blame. His other toes look normal. He eats his normal amount of food and ran to the trough when I put scratch it. I saw him drinking his water too. I haven't done anything about it yet. What should I do for his toe?

We have to remember, it was all started by a mouse

If you see any pecking on that toe by other chickens, then separate him until he is healed.     It would be a good idea to wash of all visible blood at this time if possible.  OK to wash his toe with some alcohol or peroxide.   This would help prevent infections as well..    Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure..   Blood is a lure to pecking and picking on..

WISHING YOU BEST. :thumbsup

Remember to only use the peroxide the first time but make it the only time past the first time it will damage the new flesh growing in, betadine also works to clean the wound, you can also put neosporin or the equivalent on it but make sure there are no pain killers in it, vetrycin is also great to help in quick healing

I had a silkie lose her toenail somehow and it bled quite a bit. I didn't mess with it and it healed up fine. Can you see if your guy lost a toenail?
