[IMG]https://www.backyardchickens.com/content/type/61/id/7246370/width/200/height/400I had a ebden goose and bought 3 goslings ,2 were related and one is not. My issue is that the one is a a male who is always with the ebden goose (i asume he is a male due to the two big bumps between his legs) but the 2 sisters( which i asume cause they only have a V between thier legs) only hang out with my ducks. They want nothing to do with the other 2 and are very agressive with them. They act like they are trying to breed with each other with taking turns trying to climb on each other. They were raised together and only been the last month that they have started this. They are 6 months old .Anyone ever had this issue. The first pic is of what i think is my gander the second pic is of the sisters(I think). And they are American buff
@mustbcrazy Welcome to BYC... since I haven't had this problem with my geese I am hoping maybe @servpolice or
@jchny2000 might be able to help and if you can get some pics of full body front that will help too, but I am thinking the one pic of your goose with the Embden is a gander.
I have 2 pairs and they cannot even be separated for 2 sec with out totally freaking out so I am not much help here with this Beautiful geese.
Embden is heavy weightthe lobes has nothing to do with male or female, that is just how they are built it's called a kneel and waterfowl that are bred to be heavy have the kneel, according to dave holderreads book on ducks but i think it mentions this in geese too, to store more nutrients and to hold some fat.
the buff is a heavy weight breed and embden is medium weight i believe,
It happens to me alot.Ok I guess I just got mixed up
