As far as cleaning eggs goes, I suppose it would depend on just how dirty the eggs are before I'd do anything. Light soiling or smudges would not bother me. If the eggs are heavily soiled, I'd brush off all I could and that would probably be all I'd do. Only if the egg was completely covered to the point I think the pores are clogged enough to hinder proper O2/CO2 exchange, would I ever consider washing it. The cuticle (bloom) on the egg is there to prevent bacteria from penetrating the egg, and unless the eggs are going to be incubated in a completely sterile environment, I wouldn't risk removing this protective barrier unless absolutely necessary. Just my 2c...
