Hi smile.png
I am Mama to 4 boys, 2 dogs and 1 Silkie Cockerel named Poseidon. He is a happy bird and lives inside with us, he thinks he is a dog! On warmer days (We live in Ontario) he likes to play outside all day with our Great Pyranese. What a funny duo.
I recently put in an order for 15 heritage breed birds, due to hatch mid April! Very excited to have a flock and some friends for Poseidon.

(5 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 5 Ameraucana & 5 Khaki Campbell ducks)

Very happy to have these forums to read!

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! :)

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

Hi and welcome to BYC. It will be a big change for your little fella to have other birds around but I'm sure once he gets his groove on he will ultimately be a lot happier. Good luck with your impending flock!

All the best

It's good Poseidon has a Great Pyrenees as a buddy,   other breeds of chicken tend to pick on silkies (or polish) because they look so different.  It's also best to  do a slow, look but, don't touch integration of new birds with old  to prevent bloodshed.

Did a moth know that the flame was going to change her life forever, or did she simply fly towards that heated embrace, knowing it would offer her something she couldn't give herself? In the end, the answer didn't really matter. The moth had never wanted the choice. -Joey W. Hill-
