I started with people who buy milk from me (I sell raw milk direct from the farm) asking if I had eggs. I started selling chicken eggs and sold TONS of them.Who do Yall sell them to? I'll be going to a farmers market, but how do you get people to try them? I have a few people (more foodie types and chefs are excited about them, but mostly I'm met with a look of fear and an incredulous, "you can EAT a duck/quail egg? WHAT does it even taste like?!" Do you have to do any educating or do you rely on those people who do know what they are?
At the time (YEARS ago) I had a few ducks but was feeding their eggs to the dogs as duck eggs seemed to weird people out.
I had one milk customer as if I sold them so I started giving her eggs. She had 2 kids allergic to chicken eggs so she couldn't bake with eggs unless she used duck eggs!
That turned into her telling her friends, them telling others, etc. I went from 6 egg ducks to over 100!
I also would give a half dozen to people who asked about them just to try. They ALWAYS came back to buy more once they realized how awesome they are to eat and bake with
