Cornish cross with bald bellies

We raise Cornish Cross for our family and things have gone well. I noticed though that with our last batch they had no feathers on the lower part of their stomachs. Is it because they get so big and spend a lot of time sitting and the feathers just didn't grow there, or is it a deficiency?

I have heard that feathering can be sparse on some meat birds. There are many threads here on BYC to read if you do a search at the top of this page, but here is one that describes that:
