We have Ancona and Cayuga ducks, and are going to be expanding this year. I love my Ancona because of their personality, but also because we can tell them apart. My Cayugas, not so much. They all have names, but not sure which belongs to which! Are WH females easily distinguished from one another? We are thinking about adding them, but the distinctive markings are a major plus for us.

I can tell my three apart easily, which is more than I can say for my mallard drakes, lol. See if you can spot the differences and tell who's who.

The first is recent; the second is from last summer. They've changed their looks a little but I still think it's pretty obvious. Now if you put them in a flock of fifty Welshies, lol, I might have some trouble, but I think I could figure it out.

Now these boys are tough to tell apart! I might have known at the time who was who, but honestly right now I couldn't even venture a guess. I have to see them together either from the top or side to compare bill length, because Rocky's bill is just slightly shorter than Dexter's.

Such pretty girls, @cymbaline! Yes, they are quite different. I may have ordered 2 from metzer this morning to arrive next week

. Surely I can tell two apart!

Thanks! I was very lucky - I adopted them from a fellow BYC member just before their first birthday. I found a couple of his pics on here from when they were younger. I think they were tougher to tell apart then, but maybe just because I didn't know them.
I'm sure you'll adore your new babies. My three are the friendliest of all my ducks except maybe my runner, Roxy - she's very tame. Be sure to post pics of yours when they arrive!

So glad to see that the Littles are doing so well!! I have tons of pictures from when I had them, if you ever wanted any. Dan
