ANY OTHER ANIMALS

Hey y'all, my name is Glory. I live on a 24 acre farm with my amazing husband. We currently have three inside cats. One is actually a kitten. We have 8 chickens. We've currently lost 9. We're working on replenishing our flock. And we have 11 goats. 5 are adults. And we just had 6 kids born to our 4 does. We also have 2 ducks. At some point,we'd like to add some horses. We are currently looking at some. We'd also love to have a cow and some pigs. I'd have an entire zoo here if I possibly could!!! I thought this could be a special place where we can share our other babies, fur or not! I love each one of my animals as my children. They truly are a huge part of my life. Being with them daily brings me much joy!!!!

Pets are my passion as well. I am limited to what I can have living in the city environment with just a back yard. Wish I could have a small goat, but not possible. Have cats that I take care of.. All feral and fixed and vaccinated. Have dogs that I take care of. 1 rescue, and 2 gifts from family. LOL LOL.. Keep chickens as pets only. Eat the eggs though. Not all lay. Oldest hen is almost 10 years old and blind as a result of dog attack since July 2015.. Had a flock of pigeons, but they were eaten by a raccoon in the autumn. Will rebuild flock again this spring. In the past we had fish, turtles, snakes, hedgehogs, hamsters, gerbils, and sugar gliders.
Do squirrels and songbirds count???
here are some pix..

Miss these a lot.

Benji my cutie pie.

Those are great!!!!! Yes absolutely they count!!!! I'm so sorry about the attack. Raccoons are an issue here too. Just shot one attacking our chickens. I've had snakes and fish too! Although the black snakes here are also a problem. Shot three last summer. Lost several fertile eggs and my best broody. Who lost her life fighting for her unhatched babies. Great great pictures!!!!! Thanks for sharing.

Yes he sure thinks so!!! And a stinky stud at that!!! No I do not. I believe it's important for them to have any and all defenses possible. Especially living out here where the coyotes are everywhere!!! We are extremely over populated with them. As well as foxes. Now,in the four years we've been on our farm, our barbed wire and electrical fence has held up !!! We've not had any deaths. However, they have more than tried to get in. Which if they did, they would kill. Their horns are all they have to defend themselves. Well and the hard hard part of their head in front of the horns. It's like concrete trust me! I got accidentally hit in my eye by Busters big,fat head! So the other thing is that never ever have I had one of my goats come after me. They do not head butt people, but they most definitely butt each other! Sometimes as play and others, because they're annoyed with each other for whatever reason. I've had so many many people ask me about them coming after me. I'm beginning to think that's just a myth because my goats are actually scared of strangers! They'd run before they'd gorge anyone. As far as kids, they can scare them easily with loud noise and waving hands and such. I honestly believe they would never get close enough. It would take time to get one to trust. It took a long x for me with mine. And even the babies come into this world not trusting. I have to work with them daily. Hands on and gentle voice. So that they can see I'm safe and consistent. But whenever I had guests over and they'd go to see them, the goats would take off. And I don't allow chasing. That only stresses them out! Especially when my does are prego. Now,it is possible to get a horn in your face by accident. Like whenever I have to catch one to give a shot or milk out one side of a nursing mothers udder to prevent mastitis,I must be extremely careful that my face isn't in the area of their horns. Just in case they move or jump. But even then,I've not been horned. Just one x I was feeding,Buster was bringing his head up while I was bending down. Ouuuuuuuch!!! That dudes got a hard hard head! Lol. But not ever out of hostility, have I had an issue. I'd totally let my kids grow up around them. But only under supervision!!! Especially because small kids are about the height of an average goat. And thus, aligned with the horns! So I'd be ok with it as long as I were there to instruct them and protect. Both kid and animal. How's that for an answer?!! Gees him long winded even online! LOL GOD Bless!!! Glory

What adorable dogs!!!!!!! Omgosh cuteness overload!!!! My husband and I have actually thought about getting one of those. Our German Shepard was such a lush, but too much for us. We both have back injuries. He was too big and always needing help in and out. We sure miss him,but know he's in a loving home. Awe well she's so pretty!!! I understand starting over honey. I think most of us do. Do women ever get it right the first time???

Baby goats are so lovely yes!

I dont have room for anything else, although I wish I had plenty of property to get whatever I want. But I really would rather cut down the critter work as I get older and take time to enjoy what I have.

springers are awesome! you should get one, there are a few breeders in SC too.
