I adore morning glories and want to plant some this spring to grow up my back deck columns.

Will the chickens eat them? Is there any danger?

I plant them every year where my chickens go, they never have bothered them, I do have a short fence around the base so they don't dig and scratch them up.

I've remember reading that morning glory has a hallucinogenic effect. This may be only certain parts of the plant or a particular variety. I didn't look into it further. Oldhenlikesdogs has a great suggestion with the short fence. Keeping it out of their reach would allow you to have your flowers and chickens safely.
