This is the egg that is zipping on its own but the zip marks look dark. Last time I lost chicks and they dried up in she'll. Humidity is at about 70.

That is not a healthy membrane, They should be white and dry not dark like that. Have you ever checked you hygrometer for accuracy? That one has dried membranes as well and may not be able to finish zipping without help. You might want to at least moisten the membranes there too and/or assist it out.

Thank you for the pictures. Thsee chicks are not due to hatch until Monday. So these two are early I guess. The 48 hour pip chick that I zipped is peeping away. I dampened the membrane and no veins show so I peeled it back just at the air sack. There is a lot of condensation in incubator so the picture is not that great.
. If the other chick has not finished zipping in a few hours I will finish it for him.Thank you for the pictures. Thsee chicks are not due to hatch until Monday. So these two are early I guess. Thanks RubyNala97 The one that had died was peeping when I candle before it had died......the other isn't peeping though so I will keep you updated.
Yes, what I was going to say is that something is wrong and we can figure out what it is so that you don't have this happen again. Let me know what you find when you open the air cell. For some reason they are pipping before they are ready because there is to much blood. Can you give some details about the hatch? Such as your incubator, temps, humidity, breed of eggs and where you got them. Are you calibrating your thermometers and hygrometers?I think the last egg died also I think it got flipped around somehow I made a small hole and it looked nothing like the other one its foot was at the top and no movement I don't know why or how that happened.
If the chick is zipping then usually they are ready. The zip shouldn't take to long, 30-60 mins tops. If it stops zipping for a prolonged time you can finish the job for him.0 I have a second meter in the incubator because of what happened last time. They are all black chicks does that make a difference. This one pipped at 8 pm on Friday and at 1 am this am did the zipping.
