I am hatching white leghorn eggs in a little giant incubator. When I got them half were refridgerated, and all of them were put in the incubator about 24 hours after being played. For most of the Time the temperature has been constant. At lockdown all eggs looked good when candled. On day 20 however the temperature was down to 85. I don't know how long it was like this. Now we are on day 23 and none have pipped. I need help! Did I loose the batch?
Candle them.. they may just be behind..
ETA: Did u count your day 1 when you set them, or 24 hours after u set? They seem to be more sensitive to a temp drop when ready to hatch , but there's always a chance.
Yesterday someone unplugged the extension cord that I have a grounded surge protector on with all of my incubators, hatcher, and heating pads that are in my brooders plugged in on. ... I had chicks pipping, zipping and hatched at the time in the hatcher, not to mention 2 incubators full.. temp had dropped to 89 when I noticed but everyone pulled through and finished what they were doing..it takes an egg a lot longer to cool than it does the air around them..
