Hello - new here so would appreciate some support. I have a chicken what is not doing well and for a week now is sitting by herself and tends to either sit on ground or stand up and sleep. I noticed today some things in her feet. Any idea what this is and could it be cantagious?

Welcome to BYC. Can you include a little more information, such as could there be some frostbite from freezing temperatures? Are there any dark scabs on the bottom of the foot pads that could be bumblefoot? There is a bump between two of the toes that cold be bumblefoot on top of the foot. Has she been in any wet conditions? Is she eating and drinking normally, and does she have any diarrhea or blood in her droppings?

She does have a diarrhea and not sure if it is an yeast infection thing. She has not been in wet or too cold, we are in San Antonio Texas. She has been lethargic the last few days and not sure how much she's been eating. No blood so fat. Going to check the bottom of foot and will send pics

Diarrhea can be a sign of coccidiosis, worms, or other illnesses. Other signs of coccidiosis are acting sleepy, standing hunched or puffed up, not eating or drinking well, as well as diarrhea. The treatment is Corid (amprollium, Ampromed) in the water for 5 days. It comes in powder or liquid. The foot problem may be unrelated to the not feeling well. Have you had her long?
