Help and suggestions, please for my indoor Silkies

My two Silkie chicks are 12 weeks old and I love them dearly but I need ideas for keeping their feet clean. They have been trained to wear chicken diapers but I don't feel right making them stay in them 24/7. I'm having surgery soon and won't be able to bathe their feet daily. They are in a clear plastic Searlite container lined with newspaper. I have tried putting branches in for "perches" but they don't seem to help. I'm not set up for them to be outside until warm weather. Ideas?

Try more absorbent paper/paper toweling. Wood shavings work better than newspaper too and can be stirred to keep the top layer clean..
