Actually, HSNP predates Yellowstone as a park by 40 years, but it didn't have any federal protections because the National Park Service hadn't yet been created. 1832 is when it was designated a federal reservation. It IS the oldest park maintained by the NPS, but it is not the oldest "official" national park, if that makes sense.
