I wish you all the best in with your impending chicken keeping adventure. Re: breeds, I'd say the greater the variety the better - that way you will get to know which breeds you prefer - i guarantee that you will want more in the future so the earlier you get to know which breeds you prefer the better!

Chicken raider...that was funny to me because there's an
honest to goodness horse rustling case in out local court
right now.

Rustling..Does it still happen today. Apparently yes. Last year
it was over some cows went missing. Now a horse.

And I remember a few stories about egg stealing in my youth.

Just a funny typo...made me laugh.
