2 coops, one flock?

That clock face is so cool! Great idea. I am finished w my coop addition too. Added on additional nest boxes this past weekend. And why not some lettering too? At this point my husband just shakes his head & says my chickens are spoiled :) I figure my coop might as well be cute as well as functional since we see it everyday!

It took a long time to transition my babies into my existing flock of 4. I created a coup within my run so they could always see each other but slept away from each other and could not get to each other. Then I cut a small door once they were about 2.5 months so the babies could venture out but run back into their area if needed. The older girls are JUST accepting them now and allowing them to perch on the main outdoor perch with them. One of my older hens still picks on them. One of my babies turned out to be a rooster and he protects the other two and is now the boss.
They are now over 5 months old and I can say its been a long road but happy they are all ok with each other. I would say wait as long as you can to integrate or at least until the babies are nearly the same size or they will get picked on.
