Please confirm sex - RIR 9-10weeks

I'm allowed 8 chickens per ordnance so I bought 9 figuring on one cockerel. Sexing is an inexact science so I was making an allowance. I wish the Cockerel I counted on was one of the EE's and not my "good egg layers" but oh well. SO, if this EE is ALSO a cockerel that will be 2 for 9 supposedly sexed chicks. I'd rather get the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. No need for ducking around me. I'll take a head picture when I get home and post it here.

The EE looked hennish until those sickles started coming out over the past 2 weeks. She's also bickering with the RIR hens and leaves the RIR cockerel alone although she/he is bigger.

OK. So here are the best pictures I can get. This chicken refuses to hold semi-still. Her career in Vogue Chicken Magazine is in jeopardy.

Comparison to another EE from the same batch; Same Age

Michael O'Shea, MyMilliefleur, Donrae, Drumstick Diva: All thank you for your confirmation. Growing up we never really cared what sex they were. Chicks grew up. Older ones were eaten and so were trouble makers. In this day of limited space and ordinances we have to be more aware of what we have. Sometimes early determination helps manage our limited resources.

I appreciate your comments and efforts on my behalf. That goes for everyone on here who are always helpful.

Here's what your sex diagnoses has caused in my house.

We bought 9 originally in hopes of getting 8 hens expecting one to be a cockerel. We got 7 hens and 2 cockerels out of that nine which is obviously less than 8. So what do we do? Stay with 7 and hope egg production is enough to fill our family's needs or get more? Well, that was answered when a friend and fellow BYC'er, Seatrout, told me she was expecting a shipment Friday. Yippeee!! I tacked on hers. Here's where chicken math kicked in (yes, I was warned). I got THREE (2 Barred Rocks & 1 RIR) to replace the two and after talking with all my neighbors, we're also keeping the RIR cockerel. So my 8 chicken need is now going to be 11.

So, again, thank you all for your help. Chickie pix coming Friday "the Replacements".

someone here a while ago had a sig line that said " If one's a roo, replace it with two!"....sounds like you've taken that to heart!
