Every hen is different but hybrids like golden commets tend to lay sooner. Why don't you post some pictures of them?

I have linked an article that should help you determine how close they are to laying :

Ah.
How old will they be when you get them?
Golden comets tend to lay at around 18-20 weeks.
I don't know about California Whites, it's sounds like a cross of some sort.
Welsummers tend to lay around 24-30 weeks.

The comets I've had usually start laying around five months of age.
