Hello

What I liked about it I can read the temp n humidity inside incubator and temp outside.

Yes what I did is put the other probe on other side of incubator so I would know if there were cold spots. Well fellows 3 eggs have piped so hopefully it won't be 2 much longer but that can take 24 hours to come out once piped is that correct?

Good luck.

We just hatched 5 out of 15. If no more hatch tomorrow I'll discard the rest. It is 19 days today the 5 hatched at 17.5 days. I noticed after I had put the to incubate that I had 2 females in a pen that I thought I had one of each. So some of the eggs are not fertile anyway.

I heard can take up 2 21 days do you candle or float test before you disguard?

I'm new to raising quail. This is my 1st time. I guess it wouldn't hurt to let set 1-2 more days just to see. I just added some more water for the humidity.

I am too but I've done alot of reading on here bassicly you candle the eggs at 10 days, not now it's kinda too late. But if the light shines threw the whole egg thay means that the baby never started in there you can disguard wheb picking the baby quail out of the incubator if you pick up a egg you can almost tell by weight if there's a baby in there. Anyways in up to 9 chickling now lol

So I should be ok to leave the white one with the rest. I'm working on dividing them up. I was told about someone a few hrs away that I may be able to get some to mix with what I have to change the gene a little.

After doing some more searching. I think your right with what I thought could have been Tennessee reds. I've found a few sights with pics an they look more like the Tibetan Coturnix.

Thanks for your info.
After seeing your photos they do look like Tibetan Coturnix. They will be OK to leave with the rest, except for extra roosters. It's better to separate out extras and cull them to freezer camp or set them up with their own hens. Coturnix do best with 4-7 hens to each rooster or he will over breed the hens stressing them out and will affect egg production and general health. Sometimes you can get away with two roos if you have enough hens (7-14) and the roos were raised together plus enough hiding areas, but often they will suddenly start fighting and you can end up with bloody or dead birds.
