I got this one with a bunch of others as day old peeps. It came to us with this bare patch of skin:

Still nothing growing there yet. Two weeks old now and no other symptoms of illness nor other injuries. Otherwise seems healthy and happy. My thoughts are that she may have lost the fluff having gotten stuck to her eggshell at birth. Any other thoughts from the experts? Thus far she has not been picked on for it.

Same with me. Both of my chicks have a bald spot, but the one with the biggest is my black one, about a week old or two.

I guess handle the chicks gentler and feed them more slowly and a bit less? because their chest looks like their is a big lump in it.

Are you feeling their crop, Thunder Bird? It would be normal for the upper part of the chest/bottom of the neck to feel (full). That is where food gets stored before being moved to the gizzard.

What the heck is this and is there something I should do? It's right in the middle of my hens back.

Looks like something ripped out her feathers. Maybe a bully? A rooster mating her too hard? I see no wound though. Quarantine her for a couple days for observation if you can.

I don't have a rooster and I haven't noticed any bullying amongst my 4 hens but I don't have eyes on them 24/7. Lol! The skin looks fine, just missing feathers but the quills are still there. :/
