A new hatch and different coloration ... what's with that?

So a little while back I collected 24 fertile eggs from my six RIR hens and RIR rooster. A friend hatched them in his incubator. We had 16 chicks that hatched.

My question is that at about 10 days old I can see different coloration .. especially in the wings. I recently bought 40 RIR chicks from a hatchery so I've been seeing their coloration  ... I'm  just curious about how this may develop? All my chickens (47 now) plus the 8 (my share) from the new hatch are RIR's. I would assume they will all look alike when they mature but they certainly look a bit different at this age.

Chicks go through several molts as they grow. Their color will change as they do.

Toward the bottom of the page in the next link, there are pictures of various aged chicks.
