Please tell me which Legbar Roo is more to standard/better and why? (only want to keep one!)

I dont think Crestsed Legbars are in the standard so I can't judge them via the Book, but I will say the fist one is more stunning!

X2 on CascadiaRiver's post; the APA does not recognize Legbars as a breed so they have no standards for them.

The Cream Legbar is not recognized by the APA, but the Cream Legbar Club is working on a proposed standard. You can go to the Cream Legbar website and see what they have.

Rooster 1: Nice long back, tight wings and straight comb. He looks to have a small crest? Hard to see. Tail set looks ok, hard to tell what angle it is from the pics. You don't want a squirrel tail, one that goes straight up. You want a 45 degree angle. The white tail feathers are undesirable as is the red in the white ear lobes. The wing triangle looks to have little to no barring. You need barring here. Nice color of legs.

Rooster 2: Has a shorter back and looks to have a higher tail. White tail feathers and red in the earlobes. The wings don't look as tight as Rooster 1, but there is barring in the triangle which is good. This one has a better crest and still has a decent comb. The leg color bothers me. It should be a dark yellow. Either this rooster has dark legs or else he is muddy. I think he is more muddy than off color.

Now both of these Roosters would not be considered the "cream" color that a lot of people are breeding for now. I think they would be more in the crele variety than the cream. Personally, I prefer the crele over the cream. I just like the color more. I am breeding for the crele variety.

Cream Legbars in the US are still in their infancy. None are perfect and will take a lot of work to get them there. I wouldn't have a problem getting either of these and trying to work out the problems they have.

I'm no expert on Cream Legbars. This is just what I see in them. There are far more people who know far more than I do. If you try posting in the Cream Legbars thread you will probably get more responses.

I really like the Cream Legbars. I saw them a couple years ago and just fell in love with all the color on them. Then I found out they laid blue eggs, and knew I had to get some one day.

One more thing on the two cockerels, how is their temperament? That plays a major roll in how I would look at them. I would take a less desirable cockerel with a good temperament over one that is almost perfect but tries to flog you ever chance he gets.

X2 on henless. I would go with whichever cockerel has the better temperament as you don't want to breed aggression into your flock.
