Okay i need help! Never have i ever seen frostbite this bad i have a pullet and she got her legs caught in a cage when she flew up on it i think she broke one leg i fixed that. The other leg either had circulation cut off or extreme frostbite. Her leg is extremely hot i started her on penicillian today is day 2 of that ive been soaking in epsom salt daily and it is bubbled stinks terribly and she can not move her toes she can walk on it but can not bend the toes. She acts perfectly normal no changes in her behavior. Ive had her in the house and have been keeping it as clean as i can. Is there anything else i can do or anyone who has experienced this? I do not want to have to kill her as she is very young but if she gives up i will i dont want suffering. I wont evwn be able to eat her becuz of the infection. If it is frostbite will gang green set in and spread or will her foot just rot off? In all the years ive had chickens i have never ever seen anything this bad. Anything i can do to help her thanks in advance!
