She sound like a cockatoo screaming
I checked her.she looks totally normal.
Eating and drinking and running around.
Bur she keep screaming all day.
We dont know what to do!!!!!!
Do you have any roosters? Sometimes my hens will make strained crowing-like sounds - I think it's their way of trying to sound like a rooster so they can attract a rooster since they don't have one, or even a way to attract other hens if there is only one or a few.. If a rooster were around, it would come to see who might be in his territory, and other hens might hear them and want to flock together as there is safety in numbers.. Does that sound like it could be going on?
Can you post a video of her doing that?
How old is she?
Is she a pullet just coming in to lay or is she an older girl?
No, no, it's always best to ask. You just never know with chickens
They can make all kinds of noises. I love to hear it myself.
So....YAY! You got a first egg
P.S. I don't think she was broody. When broody they generally stay very still in the nest because they would be trying to hatch eggs. She was just practicing her clucking and getting geared up.
Wait until she really get going it is hilarious (at least to me).
