I bought some english lavender orpingtons and also an Isabel orpington hen. I Had never heard of them (fairly new to chickens in general) and didn't have time to do any research them. Once I had a chance to look them up a little more, mine looks way darker than the ones I've seen. Not a subtle buff color like the ones I've seen. So, does anyone know if this is an Isabel orpington? I'm not doubting what the gal said, it just looks a lot different, and I'm not well versed in chickens..yet.
Are you asking about the golden one with black flecks? It could be Lemon Cuckoo that is split for Lavender. The Lavender gene is recessive (requires two copies) and dilutes both black and gold/red coloring. It's that diluting that produces the Isabel coloring.
