Ive heard people who have referred to both sexes as an Oaten but the correct way was just calling the hen an Oaten.

The UPA does not recognize the color Oaten as it is listed under BS Cameo which is what it is . connerhills

I was using it for a while mostly because I really like the golden browns on the CBS hens, then again the Purple BS hens are that way too.
