I'm worried about the feet of my Silkies, one hen and one rooster. The rooster looks to me to have scaly leg mites, so I have been treating him with a 15 minute epsom & warm water soak followed by rubbing in waxalene. I've done this once each week for at least 3 weeks now but I don't see any change. Also, the bottom of his feet have some pink areas that do not seem to be getting better or worse - but I'm not sure if they are swollen or if I should be concerned about the black spot. It is not a scab, more like a discoloration of the skin. What do you think?
The hen has what appears to be some flaky skin hanging off the bottom of her feet. Not sure if her pad is swollen? I've been treating her the same as the rooster just in case, and this flaky skin thing just appeared this week. Ideas?
