Is It a red star? Is it a rooster?

I bought these red star(?) as 3 day old chicks. One is much much larger than the other. It is the dominate bird. Is it a red star? They were both a tan/brown color( that should be a female when they were bought. even as a baby he was larger, holds itself taller, and now the comb is much better. What do you think? Is it a red star or just a RIR? Is it a cockerel?

Where did you get them? Red Stars from a hatchery should be sexable by color. They are red sexlinks. Males are yellow as chicks and feather in white with some red. Females are golden as chicks and feather in red with some white.
They are a cross breed and do not breed true. Most people do not realize this. The qualities that make red stars sexable, do not carry on to the next generation.
If you got them from a feed store, they might have sold you Production Reds, by mistake. They look exactly the same as red sexlink pullets as chicks, but can't be sexed by color.
You definitely have a cockerel, though.

My thoughts exactly.
 
They are 7 weeks old. At what age can they go outside? We are in Alabama. It is in the mid 50's to low 60's in the day and mid 30-40 at night?

Start day trips to their coop/run now. Keep an eye on them and bring them in when they start huddling. They should be ready to leave out overnight after about 5 days of 'hardening'. You can't just put them out overnight without getting them adjusted first.
