Chipmunk Striped Americauna Chicks

Thread Starter
My husband and I purchased our first flock of soon to be laying hens. We have 18, two of which are Americaunas. They are grey/silver with a black/brown stripe going down their backs. Any idea of how they will look once they grow? Also, what color eggs will they lay? Does each Americauna lay it's on color of egg of does it lay multiple colors? TIA 🙂

True Ameraucana will only lay blue eggs, but it may be that you have an Easter Egger which some hatcheries label as Americauna. EEs will lay pretty much any color, but the color of their first egg is the color their eggs will always be. As in, if their first egg is pink, they will always lay pink. The other one could lay blue, and hers will always be blue!

As for what color the chicks will grow up to be, I have no idea or experience there, hopefully someone else comes along to help out with that! Good luck and have fun with your little chickies! :)

Current pets - I have 2 boy kitties, a snowshoe and a brown tabby!

Future pets - Adopt 1 or 2 rescue greyhounds, adopt a bonded pair of house bunnies, get a nice "little" flock of chickens (around 12-16, all different breeds!) and some serama chickens as pets! And cats, of course! :P
