Peafowl Worming

And the pour-on is the ONLY way to treat for lice and mites???
No... ivermectin in any form given orally, topically or by injection will kill lice and mites. @KsKingBee uses the pour on topically, I use horse paste or the injectable orally, all will treat lice and mites.

Injectable can be given by injection or orally
Paste is always given orally
Pour on is always given topically

@MTZ2016 , this hen was treat with ivermectin orally and all lice were gone in 24 hours, but in chicken it can take up to 72 hours for them to die, perhaps because they are a different type of lice?

@RavynFallen , can you share with us your Valbazen treatment program?

You bet, Kathy! It was thanks to your hard work digging up studies and all your research anyways... :)

I treated all of my birds(ducks, chickens and turkeys), minus the broody hen and her chicks posted by Kathy earlier...

Valbazen (albendazole)11.36% at a dosage rate of 0.08cc/mL per pound for *3 consecutive days*... I used TB syringes, box of 100, preloaded and dosed each one individually... reloading the syringes with proper doses as needed...

This was treating for what we believed to be either Capillary or Gape worms, btw... I had 1 Call choking to death and a bantam that had a blue and purple face and neck due to lack of oxygen... worming them cured all their issues... the tape was not found until a week after treating the others...

Just a side note and personal opinion, I do use Ivermectin Pour On for lice/mites but I would wait until after the worming is completed before treating for the external parasites... 1, I don't think it is effective for worms... 2, if wormload is heavy it *may* kill off too many worms at once for the bird to be able to handle... jmo there though...

Edited to add more, lol...
Sorry! Added even more!
