My son got home from school and called me to let me know that there was an unusual chicken in our back yard. I got home and my neighbor said this little bird came into his yard and started following him around. He thought it might be one of ours and put it in our chicken yard. I am assuming it is a turkey? Type? Age? it looks like it was hen pecked so it is in the brooder with 8 chicks.

Doesn't have a snood. Not a turkey.

It looks like it's beak is trimmed, my thoughts are maybe they trim the snoods in a production situation.

After a quick search they do trim the snoods off of production turkeys.

Definitely not a turkey. The beak is the wrong shape. A turkey of that size would not have a bald head. It looks like it could be some kind of Turken cross.

More pictures of the mystery bird that was in our chicken yard today

You can clearly see the comb in these photos definitely proclaiming that it is a chicken and not a turkey. Turkeys have snoods and they do not ever have a comb. As I said before it looks to be at least part Turken which is a chicken.
