Are these eggs rotten?

First timer, using a Brinsea Mini Advance, day 14. Yesterday I posted that one of my eggs was cracked and oozing and everyone advised me to toss it. Cracked it open and yes it had stopped developing ages ago. More googling today taught me that rotten eggs actually explode! Had I known I would have been a lot more careful handling it.

Anyway I suspected the rest of my eggs are kaput. I tried candling and cannot interpret what I see. I never have been able to see blood vessels. Are these eggs all rotten too? Should I toss them or wait until the 21 days is up. What if they explode in my bator? Here are just some eggs. Some eggs were too dark to see. Sniffed them and none of them smell bad.

This one looks just like the bad one I cracked yesterday. Dead?

This one has no blood vessels and a weirdly shaped air sac. All dark. No movement. Dead?

Another very dark mass.

TIA for your help!

This one looks just like the bad one I cracked yesterday. Dead? How long have these eggs been in the incubator? The top picture egg is done for-discard it. The others look alive-possibly pipping which would explain the odd shaped air cell.

I went ahead and candled the rest of the eggs. Can see better today than yesterday, maybe I'm just getting better at it?

Looks Unfertile

So...toss that clear egg too? I'm waiting for input before doing it even tho it looks pretty clear. Just in case I'm missing something.

All the dead eggs are Rhode Island Reds, 3 out of 3 all kaput. Maybe something wrong with the batch?

On day 14 they should be mostly dark. So yes, toss the clear egg.

Are they shipped eggs or local?

They were shipped from mypetchicken.com. They are all different varieties. I got 3 RR, and so far all 3 died. Holding out hope for the other 4!!!!

Thought so. Shipping can cause a lot of damage to eggs, even if they look fine on the outside. That's why your air cells are saddled. A GREAT hatch rate on shipped eggs is 50%.

Trace your air cells with a pencil today and again when you lock down in 4 days. Then you can see how the air cells change, which will also tell you if the embryo is still growing.

Good luck!

I know, I buy shipped eggs too, so I can get the breeds I want. Just know going in that not many could hatch. (High hopes, low expectations!)

Hope the rest of then do hatch for you!
