Adding food color to water

I read that if you add food coloring to the water you put in the wells of the incubator that its easier to see how much in in them,anyone try this.I have a hard time seeing the water level with the cover on my bator thought I would give it a try.It did say it would stain the bator

you'd be trying to see if there is any water at all, rather than how much. So just top it up now and then.

 

The humidity which is produced by water in the incubator is only related to the surface area of the water, not the depth. The depth will only give you a longer time between top ups. It won't effect the humidity.
