Hello. I picked up a couple of new chicks from our local farm store. They use Townline Hatchery. Townline states that its bantam mix consists of Porcelain D'uccle, Millefleur D'uccle, Golden Sebrights, Silver Sebrights, White Silkies, Red Pyle Old English, Brown Old English and Silver Duckwing Old English. So I studied chick pictures of these breeds before I went to the farm store. I thought I was prepared. I wanted a silver sebright. I remembered from my research that they had a mottled grey appearance to their back. So I thought I found one. Now that I get home I realize the little guy's head is a little more red/brown then I would expect for a silver sebright. But it's coloring on it's back does not look like a golden sebright or does it? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I got my Golden Sebright from Townline and he looked kind of like your chick. I think that he was mixed because he wasn't hen feathered.

LynMcLean, your chick looks a lot like my chick. I am noticing brown/gold feathering coming in already. So I am thinking Golden Sebright. That does look like your guy is mixed. We shall see how our little guy turns out. Did your remain small Sebright size? Is he a gentle roo?
