Or these pretty birds could not be sooo picky n wasteful. I tested a pair ofyoung from a different line, n they eyed suspiciously for seconds then settled back down on their eggs. So guess the twig whippet things n twigs a hit, so now just gotta rack a lot up to do down on nests for other three lines of rollers.

keeping assorted bantams and standard chickens..    pigeons: "white dove release" racing homers, flying flights, flying birmingham rollers, parlor rollers, parlor tumblers, "coop tumblers", Chinease owls.

That's great news.. and you will have some beautiful birds soon.

I have one pair of fancy pigeons that I am trying to get to breed.. with no luck.

They are paired up nicely.. get on well and I have seen them mating several times.  but its over 2 months now and still no eggs off them.  I know they are male and female as I can tell them apart and have seen the female have eggs with another mate.

My other pigeons are all breeding like crazy.. I have to swap their eggs for fake ones or my bantam chicken eggs.

The one pair I really want to breed as they are a rare colour I will not be able to get any more that colour in the future where I live.

Any ideas why the female is not laying eggs?  Anything I can do to encourage her?

She is not moulting and is in good health.  Thanks.

Fake eggs? Where do you get these? This would be a help until I can get my coop fixed with a trap etc. My birds are laying eggs and I have babies.

Farm and co-op places sell dummy eggs for chickens and they'll usually do, but foys pigeon supply and other pigeon supply stores should carry. I just use stones or molded then hardened clay at their egg sizes. Some size sand down wood for too, usually the supply places. Also try cutting down to two tablespoons to fourth of cup per bird, when whistle n or shake a feed with feed in it container, when want them to come and eat in evening.

LaughingDog, Thanks. I do have some stones that size. I did check with local feed and they did not have them. But I will check with Foy's if my stones don't  work.
