New to Chickens

Thread Starter

Hello, I am a first time chicken keeper. I live in the mountains West Virginia. I had 3 peeps given to me last April. They wound up being 2 roosters and a hen. In Sept we added 10 new chickens to our flock, all young laying hens. I knew absolutely nothing about chickens and thanks to this site and everyone's shared experience this has made my chicken keeping a very rewarding experience. I have used this site as "my chicken bible" if you will. I would like to let my hens raise their own chicks this spring. I am also adding a new coop and to raise meat chickens. I think I may be suffering from Chicken Fever and enjoying every moment of it.:cd Thanks everyone on BackYard Chickens

Some days you just have to put on the hat and remind them who they are dealing with. Release the flying monkies!
