Regarding duck flooring, I am all ears. Ducks are adorable but boy are they messy. The Scobee are quite clean for ducks, and mine actually sleep out at night or find their own roosts and nests. They are protected by electric netting.
But I also have a shed for my Mallard derived ducks. I'm thinking of moving to plastic grating of some kind with holes or sluices through which water and poo can fall to a subfloor and tilt the whole shed just a little so it can be hosed down. I think is once the ducklings are about four weeks old they don't need shavings or hay, although they do love hay.
