I'm a new BYC member, but have been thankfully taking your advice since last June when I got my silkies. I would like to give a special thank you to everyone here, because of you I have 3 new heathy chicks

! My momma silkie Dolly was the incubator and I had to read so many of your forums to ease my anxieties while she was brooding. But thankfully I took everyone's advise that I googled and she has 3 healthy babies! So now I figured I should become an official member because I really enjoy learning from everyone!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Did you know there are several silkie threads, mostly divided by color; "Buff silkies," "Nothing but partridge silkies," "Paint silkies," etc. You might even want to check out another variety of silkies, called "Showgirls." they are more exotic(?) looking but have the have silkie personality and traits - such as being good broodies.
