gently now... all 3 of these Barred Rocks are indeed male, aren't they? The one on the bottom makes me think maybe girl, because it's slightly darker... but just not dark enough. lol. ::hangs head::

Chicken 1 (Cucco):

Chicken 2 (Zebra):

Chicken 3 (Minda):

All 3 (same pattern top to bottom- Cucco, Zebra, Minda):

Why do you say? They are pretty young to be making the call. Maybe they will be girls??

The coloring lol. Barred Rocks are pretty simple. Dark with pale barring = girls and Light/gray with brighter barring (looking more contrasted in general) = boys. Minda is the only one I have the slightest hope for, but she's still pretty light.

First looks like a boy. The second one could be a lighter than average pullet. The black and white bars seem pretty much the same width. The third could be a pullet.
Just to give you a glimmer of hope. The chick in the middle had me worried when she was little. Just look at all that white on her back. But she was definitely a pullet.

As others have said. it is too early to be sure, but at this stage, I would also hold out hope that the second and third ones are pullets. Look forward to seeing photos of them in a few weeks time when comb development may make things more apparent.

Well, I wasn't expecting hope! LOL. They're 3 weeks old as of 2 days ago. Some of my mixes are already turning red, but my pure BR (these 3) haven't yet gone red (except Cucco), so I'm basing off their coloring. Some of my mixes have more of the expected 'girl' BR coloring... which is expected, since they're mixes and supposed to, lol. I'll keep an eye on their combs and waddles and refrain from rehoming them until I know 100%
