Hi, my name is Ness and I am semi new to chickens. I had a couple when I was younger but that was a while ago. I bought some chicks recently. There was a problem with shipping and only 8 of 31 survived the trip. I will be getting some replacements next month or so. I am hoping to have a really nice flock going by the time next winter comes. Anyways, I am looking forward to all your help and advice as I start my new flock.

Hi Ness and :welcome - glad that you have joined us. Theres lots of info in the Learning Centre, and joining your state thread (just type your state in the search box) will also put you in contact with BYC members local to you. If you have any questions, just ask - we are a friendly bunch and what, collectively BYC members know about chickens is truly amazing.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

Did a moth know that the flame was going to change her life forever, or did she simply fly towards that heated embrace, knowing it would offer her something she couldn't give herself? In the end, the answer didn't really matter. The moth had never wanted the choice. -Joey W. Hill-
