My sweet BR Georgia seems to be ill. A little backstory: my dog ripped off the feathers on top of my RSL's head and the other chicks were picking at her. I separated her but she didn't take well to being alone, so I put Georgia (the only one who didn't seem to mind the red's deformity) in with her. They did great together and bonded quickly. Today, three days later, the red is healed enough to join the others again. I put both chicks back in the big brooder. Then I noticed Georgia looking tired. She fell asleep next to the waterer, and can barely keep both eyes open when I hold her. I've been dipping her beak in water to keep her hydrated, but she just goes into the heating pad cave and sleeps. I'm worried. They're on unmediated feed and I use ACV in their water. I was using 2 tbs to a gallon but cut it back to just 1.

Is this stress or cocci or worse?? Any advice? I really don't want to lose this sweet baby.

She's on the young side for coccidiosis but it never hurts to rule it out, and if she is by chance brewing a case you can easily save her provided you start treatment asap. It's always worth a shot in my opinion. It could also be something else but at least you can rule that out by running a course of Corid. If you decide to treat you will most likely need to give her the medicated water with an eye dropper or needless syringe at first if she's not drinking well on her own.

Thanks for the quick reply. Of course, everything is closed right now but I will be going to tractor supply as early as possible tomorrow to get corid. I'm going to treat all of them.
