Peafowl info/pictures/all things peafowl

Hi,

So I have a quick question about the way the law here is written but I didn't want this thread to ONLY be for that and be boring sooooo..... after it gets answered feel free to post any pictures or peafowl info too cause I find them so pretty :)

But first...

So I decided to look into the laws for quail here just for fun though I probably won't get any and noticed that on the domestic animals list

Here:

It has this

Peafowl (Blue Peafowl)

Is this just coming from someone who just isn't really educated about peafowl/not realizing there are multiple types or is there something truly different about the other types? Was the blue the first to be domesticated or something? Maybe it's just in case someone knows them as blue/clarification rather than meaning it's truly illegal to have any other color? Surely it's a mistake? Somebody should contact them :p

Also I was just on another thread before typing this one and noticed some people said if they ban roosters/chickens or noisy animals then they would ban peafowl too or at least not to get them so are peafowl really that noisy or what?

Now for pictures and anything else! :D

LOL well at least Texas is a nice state!! You could be somewhere really boring or cold. But yeah, don't think Massachusetts is really known for farming or peafowl or knowledge of that and it clearly shows in the law :p
 
Well, yes, peas can be very loud; certainly loud enough that neighbor problems can be encountered.

Also, there are two species of peas, Indian peafowl and Green peafowl. Generally speaking, any pure Green peafowl are most likely to be imported, not domestic.
Although there are various colors of Indian peas, IMO these Mass. regulations are likely using "blue" to differentiate from "green."

Ahh okay. There is someone down the street that has them or at least one, along with lots of other animals, but they are way down the street, technically in another town, and also the only house on the street i think except for way up so that's probably why. But driving and walking buy I haven't heard animals so maybe they got rid of the peafowl.

As for the laws, ahhh okay!! I hadn't realized there were 2 species!

That makes much more sense than just simply not knowing. Thanks for the clarification :)

Green peafowl are much quieter when compared to the India blues.

@KDOGG331 ...I gather you have a plenty of room there...and peas are wonderful, friendly, and gorgeous creatures...perhaps you should consider getting some???
