Matching Breeds to Eggs

The tiny egg on the bottom left is from your bantam. I'm guessing everything else came from the Rocks.

I don't think so. She doesn't have any copper on her. She looks more like the picture included. We got her from a lady who had ordered around 50 copper maran pullets, so she was certain ours was a maran, but she looks more like an australorp.

She could be an Australorp. One of my Australorp hens lays eggs that are the same shade of brown as one of my Barred Rocks.

Are the australorps eggs bigger or smaller than the barred rocks?

About the same size. When they are all in the egg carton together, I can't tell which hen laid which egg.
One of my Australorps lays eggs that are the same shade of medium brown as one of the Barred Rocks.
One of my Barred Rocks and another one of my Australorps lay light tan.
I only have one that lays eggs that are a bit different. Light brown with purple flecks.
The shade of brown is highly variable, even with hens of the same breed and from the same source.
It would make things so much easier if all Barred Rocks laid the same exact shade of brown, and all the Australorps had their own shade. But that's not how it is. The genes for the brown coating are so complex. There are over nine known genes that are responsible for that brown color. And hens can have several of them working in combination.

My barred rock lays huge eggs like the lighter brown ones in your photo. I agree the tiny egg is from the bantam. How long did it take you to collect those eggs? Do you get 4 eggs per day and know they are all laying.
Just a side note, Marans that come from a hatchery don't necessarily lay dark eggs and they also might not have feathered legs. Your hen is very cute though. Her comb looks a bit small to be full Marans.
