My first Pafowl hatch experience! Looking for guidance!

Hello everyone: I am new to BYC even though I read most of the threads on here before I joined. I have just bought a incubator and a freind of mine wants me to hatch peafowl eggs. I am going to try my best but I will need a lot of guidance lol. Im getting the eggs on tuesday april 1 I have plugged the incubator in @ 12 today (sunday) it is looking good going to moniter its behaviour tommorow and set them tuesday afternoon my incubator is self set at 100 degrees farrenheit and my moisture at 53%. am I missing anything

First off, Welcome to BYC!! The project sounds like fun, others will jump in here on pea eggs and incubation. Peas can be difficult when it comes to artificial incubation as they tend to be more sensitive than most yard fowl but there are many here that have almost mastered the art and will give you much info so stay tuned, you have arrived!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you joined the flock! Seems like everything sounds good. Someone might correct me though. I rotate at least twice a day sometimes more. You're going to increase your humidity for the last few days before they hatch. Peachicks sometimes can but don't usually take 24 hours to hatch out from the first peck through the shell. Don't help them too early or you could make them bleed out and not too late because that can cause toe and leg problems. Rule of thumb is don't assist until 24 hours. Just chip away enough of the shell so they can push themselves out or let gravity work.

Not to rain on the parade, but are you sure these eggs are fertile? Seems a bit early, especially up there in the northern regions...

Chances are slim. My IB male has been trying to breed my hen but she's too fast for the male. There's a bit of a chance but slim.

You add water. I honestly don't do lockdown. Some people do what I do others prefer to do lockdown. I still rotate my eggs until I feel a chick start pecking or hear one cheeping. Then I don't touch the egg.
