Have a chick about a week and half old that is apparently clicking while breathing. She's acting totally fine, I wouldn't have even noticed the clicking if I hadn't happened to pick her up today. She's not breathing with her mouth open or anything, eating and drinking fine, active and "flying" in bursts around the brooder. The only thing different I've done is today I put a small clump of sod in there for them to play with. Every time I've checked on them today she been completely fine, just the weird clicking. No one else I checked in the brooder seems to be doing it. Any idea what's going on or what I should do?

I would look her over to see if she has any puffy spots around her neck or chest, that could be a leaking air sac, caused from a bump or trauma. Clicking can be a sign of breathing trouble. If no puffy spots, then just keep an eye on her.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary. I've got her out of the brooder now and in my hands and as she calms down the clicking goes away. She's even sleeping in my hand currently (not surprising as she was trying to sleep before I snatched her) I considered it bring to hot but they have plenty of places to get away from the heat and she happily stretched out under the lamp so I don't think it's heat related. I'll keep watching though, thank you!
