Rooster Not Crowing

I have a Rhode Island Rooster thats around 20 months old. Hes not crowed in at least a month or maybe more. He eats good and makes some normal rooster noises other than crowing. He had been crowing often until he suddenly just stopped. This afternoon about an hour before dark I let the chickens out in my backyard to free range till roost time. I noticed a couple of times he appeared to be attempting to poop but nothing came out. I kept watching and I know he mated with the hens at least 13 times in a little over an hour and he also scratched in the yard and ate but didn't really call the hens like normal. I also saw him to in the run a couple of times and eat from the feeders. Is there something wrong with my rooster or is this just normal rooster strange behavior ?
